How to Play

There will be two rounds of this fun game each with it’s own theme.
Round 1 – A book connected with Nottingham (this could be a Nottingham born or based author, a book that mentions Robin Hood or a Nottingham landmark, a book set in or around Nottingham or any other variation you can think of!).
Round 2 – A book of your favourite genre.
You may take part in either round or both rounds.
When you have located the book you have chosen to bring please register it (it doesn’t have to be new, a second hand book is fine and one that has a BC history of journal entries is even better) then wrap it up (anything from posh paper to newspaper can be used) Make sure you know which one is for which game!
During the game you will be asked at some point to “reveal” your book. You will open it and talk briefly about it. This could be as easy as reading the blurb from the back or could be your personal opinion of the book if you have read it.
You will have the chance to steal other people’s books as the game progresses but then somebody may steal it from you!
At the end of the game you will have a different book to take home with you. It’s fun, entertaining and unpredictable and if at the end of the game you didn’t get the book you had your eye on simply ask to have it after the new owner and a bookring can be started.
If you still don’t ‘get it’ don’t worry – all will be revealed as you play. All you need is one or two books, and you can even get them from the Book Buffet if you bring some paper to wrap them in. Hope you want to play!
