In the tradition of previous Unconventions we have arranged a selection of pre-booked restaurant options for a group meal on Saturday evening. This gives a chance for a bit more social and relaxation time with other BookCrossers after the busy main events of the day.
To give you chance to decide in advance which restaurant you might like to go for, we are now able to give you information about each of the options as detailed below. In order to sign up for your chosen restaurant, you will need to find the appropriate restaurant sign-up sheet and put your name down before lunch time on the Saturday – ask a committee member during Friday night or Saturday morning if you’re not sure where to find them. All restaurants are booked for around 19:00 – 19:30 on Saturday evening and have a provisional booking for around 20 – 25 attendees.
And now on to the restaurants (click here to link to a map showing the location of all the restaurants in relation to The Britannia Hotel):
The Round House, Royal Standard Place
This is a pub / restaurant 3 or 4 minutes walk from The Britannia Hotel. A 2-course meal would cost around £17 – £20 per head.
The Mogal E Azam, Goldsmith Street
Our local contact (garibaldisghost) tells us this is a great tandoori restaurant. Located around 5-10 minutes from The Britannia Hotel, it is not the closest Indian to the venue but is well known for catering to large parties. A 2-course meal will be around £15 – £20 per head.
Ask, Chapel Bar
An Italian restaurant / bar within 5 minutes walk of The Britannina Hotel, where the Uncon group will have their own separate area. There is a set menu at £18 per head or à la carte at around £20.
The Flaming Dragon, Level 1, The Cornerhouse
A Chinese ‘East meets West’ buffet restaurant that also includes a Brazilian Spit Roast barbecue. Located around 10 minutes walk from The Britannia, this restaurant is £12 per head for ‘eat as much as you like’.
